1. About your firm

Size
Do you serve retail customers?
Do you use AI agents that take actions?
Is the firm in scope of the operational resilience rules (SYSC 15A)?

2. Questionnaire

0 of 20 answered
AI governance and senior management accountability
  1. Is a named senior manager accountable for the firm’s use of AI, and is that recorded in your responsibilities map?

  2. Does a governance forum — a committee or your existing risk forum — challenge and approve AI use before it is deployed?

  3. Has the board or management body set a risk appetite for AI, with thresholds and escalation routes?

AI inventory and risk classification
  1. Do you keep an inventory of all AI use cases, including the models and providers each relies on?

  2. Is each AI use case given a risk rating or tier that determines the controls, testing and oversight it needs?

  3. Does your inventory distinguish experimental or pilot tools from production use?

Employee AI usage
  1. Do employees use AI only through approved tools, with controls on what client or confidential data they can share?

  2. Is employee AI activity logged so you can review it, investigate issues and deal with complaints?

Human oversight and approval
  1. Have you decided, based on risk, where a person must review, approve or be able to override AI outputs?

  2. Do reviewers of AI outputs have the authority, information and expertise to challenge them — and do you check reviews are meaningful rather than box-ticking?

AI agent governance
  1. Is every AI agent registered with an owner, the systems and data it can access, and the controls that apply?

  2. Do agents have defined limits and approval thresholds, and can you stop one quickly?

Continuous monitoring and model evaluation
  1. After deployment, do you monitor AI outcomes — not only technical metrics — with thresholds that trigger escalation?

  2. Do you evaluate AI outputs against defined criteria (such as accuracy and completeness) and watch for model drift?

Consumer Duty and customer outcomes
  1. Where AI affects retail customers, did you define the consumer need and test outcomes across customer groups, including customers in vulnerable circumstances?

  2. Do you tell customers when and how AI is used, explain its limits, and offer another route to support?

Third-party AI provider risk
  1. Have you assessed your AI providers, including how you learn about model changes, your fallback options and how you would exit?

  2. Are your dependencies on AI models reflected in your operational resilience mapping and scenario testing?

Auditability, documentation and evidence
  1. Are AI decisions documented — rationale, challenge and approval — in records you could show a reviewer?

Staff AI training and competency
  1. Do staff receive role-specific AI training — including senior managers and people who review AI outputs — and is competence checked?

3. Your AI policy (optional)

Paste or upload your AI policy or governance framework. A keyword check looks for each of the ten areas; a reviewer should confirm what it finds.

Before you paste or upload a document

  • What is collected: nothing. The document is read by your browser and never sent to Dutira.
  • How it is processed: a keyword check in your browser looks for the ten governance areas. No AI model is involved.
  • Third-party AI providers: none receive it. This page connects only to this site.
  • Retention and deletion: the text stays in this page until you leave it or press “Start again”. Your results are kept in this browser’s storage until you clear it (see the Cookie Notice).
  • Confidentiality: because Dutira receives nothing, it makes no confidentiality commitment for the document; your device, browser and any shared screen are what protect it. Use it only if you are entitled to.
  • Nature of the assessment: automated and rule-based. Dutira provides automated governance assessments for informational purposes. Results are indicative and do not constitute legal advice, regulatory certification or a definitive determination of FCA compliance.

How the checker works

  • Questions follow the themes in the FCA’s AI in financial services: good practice and areas for improvement (19 October 2026), plus the Handbook rules and guidance behind them.
  • Each finding comes from one of your answers, or from wording missing in your document. Nothing is generated by AI.
  • Every source is labelled as a rule, guidance or good practice. The FCA says its examples create no new requirements.
  • Recommendations are Dutira’s suggestions, scaled to firm size where the FCA describes smaller-firm approaches.
