Cookie Notice

Cookies and browser storage.

This website uses no analytics, advertising or tracking technologies. It sets one strictly necessary cookie when you sign in, one short-lived cookie during single sign-on, and uses browser storage for a few conveniences. This notice lists each item and lets you clear what is stored.

1.What this notice covers

Regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) applies to any technology that stores information on your device or reads information from it — cookies, local storage, pixels, fingerprinting and similar. The ICO calls these storage and access technologies. Consent is required before using them, except where they are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for, and in the limited cases the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 added.

Everything this site stores falls within the strictly necessary exception. No consent banner is shown because there is nothing optional to consent to. If that changes, we will ask first and make refusing as easy as accepting.

2.Strictly necessary cookies

Two cookies, both set by the product rather than the marketing pages, both __Host- prefixed so they are only ever sent over HTTPS to this site, and neither readable by scripts:

NamePurposeLifetimeSet
__Host-aiw_sessionKeeps you signed in to the workspace or demonstration. HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax; holds a signed session token only.8 hours, or until you sign outWhen you sign in
__Host-aiw_oidcProtects single sign-on against forged requests (state and nonce) while you are redirected to your identity provider.10 minutesWhen single sign-on starts

3.Browser storage

The site also keeps a few values in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device and are not sent to Dutira:

NamePurposeLifetimeSet
dutira.checker.lastRunRemembers the date of your last free FCA AI Governance Checker run, to apply the one-per-day limit.Until clearedWhen you run the checker
dutira.checker.resultKeeps your most recent checker result so it is still there if you reload the page. Stays on your device.Until clearedWhen you run the checker
dutira.checker.registeredRecords that you registered for detailed checker reports in this browser.Until clearedWhen you register
aiw:modelRemembers the AI model you last chose in the workspace.Until clearedWhen you choose a model

The checker’s daily limit lives in your browser, which is why it is “per browser”. Clearing the storage resets it; we say so openly rather than pretend otherwise.

4.Analytics, optional cookies and third-party tracking

None. The site does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service, advertising pixels, session recording, social media embeds, embedded videos, chat widgets, or third-party fonts. The browser is instructed through a Content Security Policy to load scripts, styles, images and fonts only from this site and to connect only to this site, so a third-party tracker could not run even if a page tried to include one.

Our hosting provider receives the technical information any web request carries (your IP address, browser type, pages requested) in its server logs, as the Privacy Notice explains. That is not a cookie or storage technology.

If we later introduce analytics, we will do it with a consent control on this site that is off by default, lets you refuse as easily as accept, and records your choice; we will update this notice and the Privacy Notice first.

5.Managing cookies and storage

You can clear the local storage this site uses with the control below. Signing out removes the session cookie. Your browser can also block or delete cookies and site data for this site — see its settings or ico.org.uk for general guidance. Blocking the session cookie will prevent sign-in; blocking local storage only affects the conveniences listed above.

6.Changes to this notice

We will update this notice if the cookies or storage the site uses change. The version and effective date appear at the top of the page.
